Our History
Castlemaine Community Gym opened its doors to the public in March 2009 thanks to years of local fundraising and financial help from the Department of Arts, Sport & Tourism.
For the people of Castlemaine and the surrounding area it eliminates the expense of travelling long distances to work out and the centre is open to everyone.Convenient and affordable it is a welcoming place to be thanks to the care and maintenance of FÁS and reception staff. The gym is also wheelchair accessible. Castlemaine Gym has a qualified personal trainer on site to assist members with their work outs.
Castlemaine Community Gym houses a vast range of equipment including treadmills, rowers, bikes and cross trainers, free weights, a smith machine, cable crossover, multi function trainer, shoulder press, lat pull-down, seated row, preacher curl, leg extension, leg curl, stability balls, ab-mats, punch bags and a power rack and all spread over 2 floors.
Fat-Loss programmes and nutritional sheets are also available. Sports and weight management supplements may also be purchased there. A sports massage therapist is also available.
Memberships cost starting from €6 for a once off visit to 1,3,6 month memberships.
